Information has been circulated to club secretaries and the link will be sent nearer the time.

Nominations for County or Regional positions should sent to the county secretary by 22 April 2026.

Masters Swimming in Devon is undeniably strong with many of our club swimmers consistently winning Regional and National medals and setting British, European and even World records, not to mention the County team  winning  the National Inter county Championship in 2022 and 2024.

However, right now there is no County lead for Masters in Devon as the position of Devon Masters Secretary has been vacant since Sue Haigh stepped down after many years in the role at the 2025 AGM last year.

None of the current committee has been willing to take on this role and as such nothing as happened or been reported, planned or actioned this year.

The County and the Masters community, desperately needs someone to take on the Masters secretary role.

The AGM is due in May, but leaving it that long is likely to result in the cancellation of the Devon County  Masters Open Meet this year. (September)

If you anyone you know might be interested in finding out more about what this role entails please contact the swimmingsecretary@devonswimming.org.uk

Kate was County President in 2014. she held many positions in Devon and actively organised and supported the Inter county team and of course the County Masters team.

A hugely accomplished Masters swimmer in her own right, Kate represented at World Championship level and was a proud lifelong member of Totnes Swimming Club.

We keep Kate’s family firmly in our hearts, sending our deepest sympathies to her husband, Simon, and her sons, Kalon and Levin.

Kate’s warmth, positivity and generous spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kate’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 10th December at 11am at Dartington Church, followed by a gathering at the Seven Stars in Totnes for those who wish to come together and remember her.

Devon won in emphatic style, beating teams from Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

Pictured below is the Devon team along with our two Devon officials, Tony Dilks and Sara Rolle, our Devon County President Esther Rookes  and the Regional President, Maurice Cleaver.
