Devon County Bursary
Devon County Swimming Association provides bursaries for IOS Teaching and Coaching courses (only IOS courses), at a rate of:
Level 1 – £50, Level 2 – £100.
Bursaries must be applied for to Devon County by the following process:
- Identify your training course & book your place on the course,
- Complete your bursary application form and send it to the Devon Bursary Secretary () with the course fee receipt,
- On receipt of your course certificate, submit a copy to Devon Bursary Secretary at .

The Swim England South West region will also provide bursaries for IOS Teaching and Coaching courses (only IOS courses).
Level 1 – £50; Level 2 -£100; Level 3 – £200 from the Region
There are criteria attached to this which are detailed on the application form which is available at this link.
Claims are limited to 3 per discipline per Club and will be processed in order of receipt.
The applications for regional bursaries must be submitted at the same time as the Devon County applications.
PLEASE NOTE: Copies of course fee receipts and copies of course certificates are required in order for the application to be processed.
DEADLINE FOR ALL BURSARY APPLICATIONS for this year is 1ST MARCH 2021.
Applications for Funding for Safeguarding approved courses
Swimming clubs within Devon County can apply for funding for attendance on approved Safeguarding courses, or by holding approved Safeguarding course.
Any cost in excess of £20 per attendee can be claimed back.
FOR EXAMPLE: Club members book themselves onto the organised course paying the requested fee. The Clubs then claim the fee in excess of £20 back from the County.
PLEASE NOTE: Course fee receipts and copies of course certificates are required in order for the application to be processed.
