Devon Developments October 2022

The new entry pack and Hy-TEk entry file for the rescheduled Devon Developments in 2022 are now available for download from the Swimming Documents 2022 page.

The program has been adjusted due to it running over 2 days rather than 3 with the 800m and 1500m events dropped for 2022.

Devon Developments Update

Following Wednesday’s announcement that we had to cancel this weekend’s and next Development and Sprint Meet event due to lack of Technical Officials we have been looking for an alternative date when we could run the Developments with a slightly amended event list.

Subject to Licence approval we are now aiming to run the Development events only on the weekend of 29th and 30th October 2022. Unfortunately, due to time constraints we will be unable to accommodate the 800m and 1500m events. Further details will be published shortly with the aim of all current accepted entries being guaranteed. Once approved by the Regional Licence officer the event information will be republished.

We would ask all clubs to ask their current Technical Officials to save the date now and to encourage parents to sign up for Technical Official Training as currently time is on our side, so we do not find ourselves in the same position again come October.

Devon Developments and Sprints Cancelled

After an urgent meeting this evening (01/06/22) the Devon Management Committee have regrettably taken the decision to cancel the Devon Developments and Sprint events due to take place this weekend and next. We know this will not be welcome news to Clubs and Swimmers.

Unfortunately we did not have sufficient Technical officials volunteer to cover the number of roles required for a Level 3 Licence. We also looked at the option of running as a Level 4 but again we had insufficient Technical Officials to run the event. Therefore leaving us no option but to cancel.

The Management Committee are looking to see if a slimmed down version can be run later in the year.
