Devon County ASA – Covid 19 update

DEVON COUNTY ASA – Covid 19

You do not need us to remind you that the current situation is having a devastating effect on every aspect of our lives.

The County Management Committee have agreed “that only decisions necessary for the compliance of the County” will be made at this time.

This will continue until clear indication from Government and S England is received that we can safely return to resuming affairs through our Committee structure.

We can advise you of the postponement/cancellation of the following events.

  1. County AGM
  2. County Development Galas and Sprint Gala
  3. County Masters Gala
  4. County Open Water event
  5. All County Water Polo

The County AGM will be arranged as soon as it practically possible, when restrictions have been lifted, and whilst we will look at re-arranging other events, we are sure that you will appreciate there are many factors involved with this, and it may not be possible.

S England are making available some FREE CPD opportunities, which may be appropriate for “up skilling” some of your members, please check them out, so as when we can return to some form of normality we will be stronger. Safeguarding Courses online are also being made available, please keep checking both the S England and Regional websites.

The latest edition of “Wavepower” has been recently published, you may wish to look at the latest Safeguarding requirements.

It is hoped that you will try and stay in touch with your members through the various social media outlets that are available, one suggestion has been for Land Training, but please read the S England website for the criteria for this.

Please, please follow all the advice we are being given from Government and S England.

We wish everyone well, please stay safe, and we will see you at a pool near you as soon as we can.

Roger Bossom, President
